Winter sailing with the Partnership
The Partnership has several yachts berthed in the Hamble at Moody’s boatyard and each branch was allocated a few weekends each year to enable any Partner interested, to have a go. It was a case of all joining in to do all the tasks required from cooking meals, being at the helm, setting the sails and many many more tasks including cleaning and checking everything on return after the weekend.
Robert Sayle had a very enthusiastic Sailing Club and were on a special waiting list so that if any other store was unable to fill all the places on any of the yachts which had been allocated to them, we would be contacted and more often than not, could fill the spaces for them.
This photograph shows Valerie Thorby and Marjorie Shaw in full gear (provided by the Partnership), well wrapped up against the weather and somewhere on the Solent.
