Waterloo Club Lunch 1964

Some of the positions held by these members of the 25 year (Waterloo) Club.

Alan Bennett was Senior Sales Assistant in the Furnishing Fabrics Department and retired after over 50 years as a Partner.

Doris Boyce was Department Manager of the Fashion and Fur workroom.

Amy Burnell was Section Manager of Ribbons and Notions in the Haberdashery Department.

Basil Carroll was the Display Manager for some years.

Tony Cooper was the Department Manager of the Soft Furnishing Workroom.

Charlie Edwards was the Department Manager of the Linens Department.

Winifred Ford was the Millinery Department Manager.

Ron Gould was Despatch Department Manager.

Beverley Greenall, known as Bev, was Menswear Department Manager for some time.

Ted Grover was Service Manager at Robert Sayle.

Sid Head was also a Department Manager.

Bobby Howe was at one time, Department Manager of Dress Fabrics. 

Miss Jelley was the Department Manager of Gifts.

Ken Jordan was the Department Manager of Soft Furnishing, two of his sons ( Colin and David) also worked at Robert Sayle for some time.

Philip Lloyd was a Department Manager of Carpets.  Bob Marshall was one of the Van drivers.

Teddy Potter was for some time Funeral Director also Contracts representative also Department Manager of Soft Furnishings, a well loved character.

Louise Robson was one of the Partners working in Haberdashery. 

Miss Sieveking was Registrar for some years and was the author of an early book on the history of Robert Sayle.

Lewis Smith was the General Manager of Robert Sayle and in some photographs his wife, Jean is also included. Ozzie Smith was a van driver.

Miss Taylor from Despatch also sold the Chronlcle magazines and saving stamps.  Miss Ward was known as Winnie and as a Cashier in the Cash Desk.
