The Magnet Service Building
The Magnet Service Building had previously been a bowling alley but was put to good use for holding and despatching stock to the store and also to delivery vans and on to Customers. It also eventually housed the Soft Furnishing and Carpet Workrooms. A small amount of upholstery had been undertaken in the past but in latter years, in addition to curtains and other items, loose covers were made by the expert team in the Soft Furnishing Workroom.
Note the style of vans being used in the 1970s.
